Casting & Splinting

At Kensington Physiotherapy we offer an upper and lower limb casting service using the latest synthetic products.

This service includes application and removal of casts to both adult and paediatric patients using the material most appropriate for each patient. The under linings for these casts can be either water proof or non-water proof.

 

We also offer Exos bracing, a new casting alternative, using a reformable and adjustable system. These braces are appropriate in some upper limb fracture management cases under the recommendation of your doctor.

We also offer a splinting service using thermoplastics and dynacast prelude.

Boots, Braces  & Mobility Aids

We stock a large number of orthopaedic walking boots including Aircast and Vacoped. These are often used post-operatively or to treat many acute and chronic foot and ankle injuries. We provide an onsite expert fitting service to ensure the correct fit is achieved.

There are numerous other braces in stock at the clinic for a variety of joints including ankle, knee, shoulder, wrist, elbow, and hands.

Some of these include:

• post operative range of movement knee braces,
• osteoarthritis (OA) knee braces,
• ankle ligament braces,
• knee ACL braces,
• shoulder stabilisation braces
• limited range of movement elbow braces and
• stabilising wrist braces.

We stock a range of underarm and forearm crutches in many sizes, as well as walking sticks. All are available for purchase.
